On Sunday afternoon, the Paulsboro Police Department made short work of an armed robbery.

2 males, one aged 18-years-old and the other aged 15-year-old, walked into the Rite Aid on East Broad Street at about 2:30 p.m.

Police told that the 15-year-old individual showed the cashier a handgun, jumped over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. They both escaped from the incident location immediately.

Mike Bielski of the Paulsboro Police Department, took over the investigation and quickly identified one of the suspects and both were taken into custody at their borough homes sometime after the robbery. One suspect was taken into custody within almost 3 hours after the crime.

18-year-old Julian Scarpaci of West Washington Street was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft. He was booked in the Salem County Jail on $50,000 bail.

The younger individual involved in the case, whose name was not released due to the reason that he is a minor, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft. He was committed to a nearby juvenile shelter.
