34-year-old Anthony Stango, of Brick, New Jersey, who is linked to the New Jersey crime family, has been sentenced to six years in prison on drug and prostitution charges.

Stango, who is believed to be the model for the hit TV show ‘The Sopranos’, will also be required to serve 5 years of supervised release after being freed from prison as part of the terms of his sentence.

Last August, Stango had pleaded guilty to a complaint charging him with selling cocaine. Other charges he faced included using a telephone in interstate commerce to conduct a prostitution operation, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Stango was arrested in March, along with 10 other alleged members of the DeCavalcante crime family.

Prosecutors claim that the family is engaged in numerous offences, which include murder, extortion, and fraud.
